ADDITIONAL INFO
Our trips are primarily drift boat float-fishing based. On rivers that cannot accommodate a drift boat, we use rafts with customized fishing frames. Wade fishing is very limited in this region and requires substantial athletic ability. If you are interested in a wade fishing trip, please give us a call before booking so we can discuss options. Wade fishing is usually late summer / early fall and depends on guide availability and customer ability. All of our guide trips are catch and release.
NUMBER OF ANGLERS
Drift boats and rafts are designed to accommodate two passengers and a guide. We recommend only two passengers per boat for maximum comfort and casting room. If circumstances allow, a 3rd passenger (usually a child or small person) can be added to a boat on half day local trip only. A third person on a float trip will be charged an additional fee of $125 whether fishing or not.
WHAT TO BRING
Our guides come prepared with all the fly fishing equipment you’ll need for a successful outing. If you have your own, we recommend rods, reels, and line in the 4-6wt range all 9′ in length. We like a fast action 4wt for precision dry fly work, a fast 5wt for big dry dropper rigs and nymphing, and a 6wt for heavy nymphs and streamer fishing. If you only have one, a fast action 9ft 5wt is the best all around set up. We primarily use floating lines with the occasional sink tip for streamer fishing. All flies and terminal tackle are provided by our guides.
