If so, the rate is $500 for a half day travel trip. Travel trips require substantial drive time and the customer must provide their own transportation to and from the meet location.

Lunch discount:  We offer a $25 per boat per day discount on full day trips for those who would like to provide their own lunch. Let us know when you book and we will apply the discount. We will provide a cooler with ice and bottled water.

ADDITIONAL INFO

Our trips are primarily float-fishing based. We use drift boats and rafts with customized fishing frames. If you are interested in a wade fishing trip, give us a call and we can discuss options. Wade fishing is usually late summer early fall and depends on guide availability.

NUMBER OF ANGLERS

Drift boats and rafts are designed to accommodate two passengers and a guide. We recommend only two passengers per boat for maximum comfort and casting room. If circumstances allow, a 3rd passenger (usually a child or small person) can be added to a boat on half day local trip only.  A third person on a float trip will be charged an additional fee of $125 whether fishing or not.

WHAT TO BRING

Our guides come prepared with all the fly fishing equipment you’ll need for a successful outing. If you have your own, we recommend rods, reels, and line in the 4-6wt range all 9′ in length. We like a fast action 4wt for precision dry fly work, a fast 5wt for big dry dropper rigs and nymphing, and a 6wt for heavy nymphs and streamer fishing. If you only have one, a fast action 9ft 5wt is the best all around set up. We primarily use floating lines with the occasional sink tip for streamer fishing. All flies and terminal tackle are provided by our guides.

Most of our guided trips are in close proximity to Bigfork Anglers Fly Shop. If necessary and circumstances allow, it might be possible for us to provide minimal transportation free of charge. However, some of the areas we fish are remote and require considerable drive time. Shuttle services are also not always dependable. We recommend having your own vehicle as it will provide the most flexibility when choosing where to fish. Travel trips require customer to provide their own transportation to meet location.

We request a 50% deposit to be held until the day of the trip. This deposit is refundable in full if the trip is canceled at least 30 days prior to the date scheduled. We will also refund the deposit in full if the guide can be rebooked for the date scheduled. This is the only way we can protect the guides from losing a day of work if a client doesn’t show up. We understand that unexpected situations can lead to trip cancellations. We reserve the right to evaluate the circumstances and make refund decisions on a case by case basis. If a mutual agreement is made between the shop/guide and client due to weather, state or federal closures, or other unforeseen events, the entire deposit will be refunded but we very rarely cancel a trip due to weather. Cancellation fees are rarely collected due to our ability to rapidly re-book our guides but cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to the scheduled trip are very difficult to rebook and generally not refundable. Cancellations outside of 30 days will be charged a $25 processing fee in addition to a 3% fee on amount collected. Cancellations less than 24hrs will forfeit full payment of trip.
