It’s not quite winter yet but the Flathead has entered winter mode. Fish are in the slower winter runs and winter nymphing tactics are working well. Slow striping/swinging streamers on a tip and deep-ish nymph rigs are the go-to for the winter months. Warmer afternoons can get some fish up on midges occasionally too so keep a look-out in the afternoons. Turds, SJWs, frenchies, pink bullets, hot wrap princes, winter PTs etc are the patterns. Pretty much any day that’s above freezing is do-able if you want to get out and catch some fish. We are on the water all year so give us a call if you want to go for an afternoon winter float.
