Tying John Foust’s Skwala Pattern

Just about everybody has heard of John’s famous Fat Freddy. I don’t think there is a Missoula guide around that doesn’t have at least a couple floating around in one of their boxes somewhere. This fly has caught a lot of fish for most of the guides we know. Figured we should do a vid to showcase this great fly and say thanks to John for giving up a handful back in the day. John has been nice enough to supply us with his precut bodies for many years but he finally cut us off……or he’s just tired of making the damn things. We use them in purple, tan, golden, red, black, and orange. They all work. Add a wing and you have a Chubby Freddy.
