Has run-off peaked? It looks like it’s pretty close. The forecast graph for the Flathead River is showing peak flows this Friday the 15th at 35K followed by a steep drop. It looks like we will be pretty close to fish-able flows mid next week, but can’t count on it. The steep drop in flows is likely due to the cool temps in the forecast with highs forecast in the mid 50s for a couple days. There’s a good chance that 35k might be our peak run-off mark for the season. But it’s not over yet, the rivers will continue to yo-yo for at least a few more weeks with warm/cool fluctuations in the weather and any rain events we might receive. That being said, we will likely be back on all the rivers earlier than normal with a below average snow pack of 86%.

Meanwhile, local stillwater fishing and the Missouri River will be the focus of our guide trips. Both have been productive. Give us a call if you want to get out and enjoy the spring weather before the summer masses arrive.
