The rivers are on a steep drop. Cold weather in the forecast will continue the trend. The rain forecast has been downgraded and flows look to be in the zone in a couple days. Unless we get more rain than anticipated of course… The Flathead and Blackfoot are at fish-able flows but high and off color. The upside to high off color flows – big fish are on the prowl and you might bump into beast. Or you might just get cold and wet and row off early. Unstable weather ahead with another cold/wet front coming through Wed -Thur. When the weather clears and the sun comes out, the big bugs are gonna go. Until then, here’s another brown trout from the Missouri.

If you’re looking for a little DIY wade fishing, the Thompson River is clear and fishing decent west of town.
