Our rivers are still really BIG. Everything is dropping right now but as soon as the heat returns the rivers will turn back up. NOAA is predicting sustained high flows for quite a while but they are not always right. One thing for sure, the Flathead drainage is still 30% above average for snow pack so it is going to be big through the first part of summer at least. That’s ok, we like it that way. As long as we have a few feet of visibility it will fish good, even at high flows. Same goes for the Blackfoot and the Clarkfork. High water usually provides big fish too so there’s that. When will we get the flows and clarity we are looking for? Hard to say…rain and air temps will decide.
Meanwhile we have some options for our guide trips if you are looking to get out and enjoy a day on the water. Give us a call and we can discuss the details. And no, we won’t be taking you to a bass pond…
