Mo Brown with Andy Guyde from a couple days ago.

General Outlook:  Rain…rain…rain…Despite all this wet weather the cold temps are dropping the rivers. We have a few river options at this point and there are a few more getting close. We will likely see flows sightly bump again this week but it appears the downward trend will start for good…at least on the C-fork, and Blackfoot. The Flathead system is still holding some snow and will probably get another push of water with the next warm up.

Blackfoot River Report: Dropping fast and looking like a good option. NOAA is showing a slight increase in flows this week but dropping again by the weekend. Should be worth dragging some stonefly nymphs and buggers down the banks.
Bugs / Fly Patterns: 20 incher stones, double bead stones, rubber legs, princes, San Juans, beadhead whatevers, urchin buggers, flash fry, skiddish smolt, sparkle minnows, but monkeys, sex dungeons…

Lower Clark Fork River Report: still dropping but needs to come down for a few more days. We could see it down to 15k by early next week. If that happens it should be a go.
Bugs / Fly Patterns: 20 incher stones, double bead stones, rubber legs, princes, San Juans, beadhead whatevers, urchin buggers, flash fry, skiddish smolt, sparkle minnows.

Flathead River Report: Not yet…Mainstem and forks are still big and cold but dropping. There is a bunch of new snow that will likely spike things again with the next warm up. The upper reaches of the Middle Fork should start to green-up and offer some fishing soon.
Bugs / Fly Patterns: 20 incher stones, double bead stones, rubber legs, princes, San Juans, beadhead whatevers, urchin buggers, flash fry, skiddish smolt, sparkle minnows…

Swan River Report: The upper is coming in but it looks like it will rise again with the warm weather. Quite a few lakers in the bay. Some cutties too.
Bugs / Fly Patterns: 20 incher stones, double bead stones, rubber legs, princes, San Juans, beadhead whatevers, urchin buggers, flash fry, skiddish smolt, sparkle minnows, but monkeys, sex dungeons…

Other Stuff: The Thompson is fishing well and producing some solid fish.
