Rain and cooler weather have cooled our water temps and given us some much needed relief from the Africa heat the last few weeks. It looks like the cooler weather trend is going to stick around for at least the near future so we should maintain acceptable water temps for a while. We should see some good fishing as a result with more willing fish afternoon looking up, especially on the Clark Fork and Blackfoot. We are still under Hoot Owl restrictions on the Clark Fork and Blackfoot so early meet times are a must if you want to get in a full day of fishing.

Spruce moths are already starting to pop on the Blackfoot in the afternoon and nocturnal golden stones have had the fish looking for the big bugs before the sun hits the water if you know where to go(Clark Fork & Swan).
