Several major atmospheric rivers coupled with warm temps this past week sent our rivers to the moon. The Flathead and Swan both saw near peak run-off flows in Dec! High winds accompanied the storms uprooting trees and downing power lines across the valley. Power outages and flash flood warnings – pretty fun stuff. Not exactly fishing weather. That being said, it’s been like spring out there with warm temps in the 50s. It almost makes you feel like fishing, almost. More wind heading our way for the next several days along with cooler temps. Looks like winter will try to make its way back in. The rivers will drop with the cooler weather and things will normalize soon we hope. Once the the rivers drop back to the norm winter flows and we get another warm up you should be able to get out on the main-stem. We need some snow so let’s do the dance!
