Whitefish Montana Fly Fishing
Fly fishing in Northwest Montana is a unique endeavor. Cold, gin-clear glacier water and native cutthroat trout are what bring anglers to this region. The Flathead River system is one of the last strongholds for westlope cutthroat and bull trout in the country. Some of the world’s cleanest, clearest water flows through this drainage out to Flathead lake just south of town. Whitefish is only minutes from the Flathead River drainage and offers a small, quaint Rocky Mountain ski town vibe with plenty of hotel accommodations for the traveling angler. Dry fly fishing with attractor patterns from drift boats is the primary tactic our guides employ.
Whitefish Montana Fly Fishing Guides
Bigfork Anglers owner Jason Lanier cut his teeth in the fly fishing business in Whitefish Montana in the late 90’s. Jason worked out of the Central Ave Orvis fly shop(no longer in business) and for the rafting companies long before Hollywood discovered this little mountain gem town. In the past 20+ years he has established a vast network of accomplished guides, most of which have been guiding 10+ years. Our guides are hard working professionals who pride themselves on providing our clients with a successful and memorable trip down the river. They are all accomplished anglers and instructors well versed in instructional fly fishing for anglers of all skill level . We utilize top quality drift boats, rafts, and fly fishing equipment from the best manufacturers to make sure you have an enjoyable day on the water.
