There are still some nice fish around for those willing to head out. The weather has been fairly mild for this time of year. There’s little/no snow on the ground in valley and temps above freezing for daytime highs make for some tolerable afternoons on the water. The snow up on the MTN is pretty darn good so our snow-pack is already starting pile up in the high country. I sorta don’t mind not having to shovel or plow snow, especially when we are getting it up high. It looks like more of the same in the forecast. Snow on the mtn and above freezing in the valley. Should make for good skiing and tolerable fishing.
As for fishing, winter tactics are here for the duration. Nymphing with jiggy pink stuff, SJWs, stones, and attractor nymphs will be your best bet for catching the most fish. Swinging streamers on a two-hander sure is fun too though. Give us a call if you want to take a jet boat ride and swing up a few runs. We have a pile of trout spey rods and lines and can show you a few good swing spots.

I’m glad to hear an optimistic report and words supporting the idea of good snowpacks in the mountains and no build ups on the valley floors that’s how I like it here in Northeast Washington too even with a blade on my Jeep. Hopefully I’ll be over to fish the Flathead again in the coming spring.
