Our winter went from zero to hero in a matter of days. A big arctic winter storm has locked us in the deep freeze and ceased up the river for the near future. The picture above is looking north from the 35 bridge. Yikes! It looks like we’ll get some above freezing temps in the next week and it usually only takes a few days to open back up. The question will then be the safety of the boat ramps. It is common for ice jams to back-up flows pushing water onto the ramps and parking areas. It will take awhile for those to clear. We’ll keep you posted as things warm up a bit. It’s great to see a real MT winter storm come through, it’s been a while…
