Just got back from the annual migration to BC for the swing fix. No bobbers or helicopters……just a riveted duck boat and some two handed fly rods. Nothing like some poutine and steelhead to soothe the brain after a long guide season. As always, we wish we could spend the whole season up there…….one of these days.

Where in B.C. How do you get there? Wade fishing? Any advice for someone looking for a steelhead trip this spring reasonably close to NW Montana. I’ve been steelheading the great lakes for years. Now that I live in the West I want to find some true steelies.

The Salmon River and Clearwater River in Idaho are close and offer good steelhead fishing in the Spring. We were fishing the Bulkley River and Morice River out of Smithers BC,
