Hopefully you had the chance to get out the last week or so. Fishing and weather have been great. All the crowds are on the Missouri and the rivers have been fairly empty on the west side. Solid dry fly fishing down on the Clark Fork was enjoyed. Grey drakes & march browns were out in force and fish were chowing foam flies. Fun stuff! The Flathead, Swan and Blackfoot have also been in shape and offering up some good fishing. Love May on the west side!

As predicted, the rivers are all back on the rise. Another cool down is coming next week so they might drop right back into shape. Hard to say… There is definitely some snow in the high country(thankfully) that still needs to come out. You can view the NOAA forecast graphs here. We will probably have a couple more weeks of run-off before the freestone rivers come back online. But there is some colder weather headed are way so… Lake fishing for smallies, pike, greyling will suffice while we wait. The Thompson River is also in great shape with stable flows and good hatches if you want an easy DIY wade fishing trip. Give a call or stop in for info.
