General Outlook. Pretty nice weather out there right now. Better weather for fishing than shooting critters anyway. Get it while you can because old man winter is around the corner.

Blackfoot River: With the sun out you should be able to find a few fish skating and twitching October caddis. Throwing streamers while you look for rising fish should pass the time and get you a tug or two as well. Any rising fish should eat a bwo or moho cripple. The recreation crowd has vacated so you should have the rivr to yourself.
Bugs / Fly Patterns: October Caddis, mohos, bwos / smaller fuzzies, Large parachute hazes, mayfly cripples from #18-#8,chubbies, p-tails, micro mays, Red & Purple Holo Princes, Oct caddis, Oct caddis poopas, turds, and worms, streamers

Lower Clark Fork River: The streamer bite has been quite productive this past week with a plane old black bugger getting some quality fish. There are a few fish to be found rising for bwos and mohos. October caddis patterns with deep droppers are an effective search rig. Bobber rigs with rubberlegs and whatever off the back will always put a few in the boat.

Flathead River:  There are rumors of lake whitefish starting to show around the Old Steel Bridge and they should be up to the forks in good numbers in the next week or so. Go grab some jigs and throw them under an indicator for some good fun. Look for an afternoon dry fly window with some bwos and mohos still around on the right day. The nice weather over the next few days should have some fish looking for the attractor stuff in the afternoon. Streamer fishing some of the slower deeper runs should produce.

Swan River: We haven’t been putting big numbers in the boat but some big fish are around. Nymphs and streamers are  producing most of the action. Still a few willing to eat the dry on the right day. The Bay / wild mile / lower river has been giving up some fish too. Late fall is a great time to catch some nice fish around town.
