Nice Winter Cutt

The weather today was OUTSTANDING! It felt like a warm day in late April. Great day to be out on the water. The fish seemed fairly happy about it too. There were quite a few fish up on midges today on the Flathead Main-stem. We fished a few spots and caught a handful of nice fish. Reports have been pretty decent the last week with the warm weather.

On a day like today you could probably fish just about any river in the state and have some success. The Missouri  is always the best winter option but if you don’t want to spend $100 on fuel you can catch a few locally too. Typical winter freestone stuff is all you need. Pat’s rubber legs, DB Stones, 20 incher Stones, Pink stuff, princes, SJWs, and the like. The rising fish were eating midges today but we had plenty of action on a small p-chute haze.

Keep your eyes on the forecast and if it gets above 40 you should have decent fishing.

The BIG MTN was glowing in the background this evening.
