Our friend and fellow guide Chris “McMac” McAdams displays a nice brown his client caught on a golden stone dry – Blackfoot River

General Outlook:  Summer is here! The rivers are shaping up nice and the fish are looking up. Good things are going to happen this week.

Blackfoot River Report: The Blackfoot has been fishing well for a while now. Some great dry fly days to be had out there the past week but it seams like it’s every other day. Yesterday the fish ate the big foam stuff like mad and today not as much. Tomorrow…who knows. You can run the big dry dropper rigs and have good enough success to put away the bobber. Streamer fishing is still producing if the twinks are annoying you. Lots of bugs out and about. A golden stone with a green drake cripple is a great dry search rig.  Deep droppers of various types have all been getting attention. Tandem streamer nymphing with a light and dark combo has been good too. 2x and 3x is still acceptable. caddis are fluttering around in the evening and some fish are eating them here and there. The rain in the forecast could produce some banner green drake fishing in the clouds later this week.
Bugs / Fly Patterns: Salmon flies, caddis, pmds, green drakes, yellow sallies, golden stones / foam creatures, extendo drakes, huge cripples, Rouge Stones, flutter stones,  20 incher stones, double bead stones, rubber legs, prince variations, San Juans, sally nymphs, urchin buggers, flash fry, skiddish smolt, sparkle minnows, but monkeys, sex dungeons…

Lower Clark Fork River Report: The C-Fork should really be good this week. Flows are stable and clouds are in the forecast….Never a bad thing. A big foamie and a deep dropper is a good way to start. Bobber rigs with worms / stones or any beeadhead attractors will produce early in the day. A tandem streamer rig on a tip is good to have in the boat.
Bugs / Fly Patterns: Caddis, pmds, green drakes, golden stones, sallies / foam creatures, extendo drakes, huge cripples, Rouge Stones,  20 incher stones, double bead stones, rubber legs, princes, San Juans, beadhead attractors, urchin buggers, flash fry, skiddish smolt, sparkle minnows

Flathead River Report: Still a POOOOO PIE!
Bugs / Fly Patterns: 20 incher stones, double bead stones, rubber legs, princes, San Juans, beadhead whatevers, urchin buggers, flash fry, skiddish smolt, sparkle minnows…

Swan River Report: The upper is getting really close. It’s still high but it’s green and fishable. Nymphs and streamers. Remember Lion Cr is closed to fishing this year – 150yrds radius. Look out for new lumber and leave the kids and dog at home.
Bugs / Fly Patterns: salmon flies, Goldens, caddis, pmds, 20 incher stones, double bead stones, rubber legs, princes, San Juans, beadhead whatevers, urchin buggers, flash fry, skiddish smolt, sparkle minnows, but monkeys, sex dungeons…
