Been seeing a bunch of these nubby finned cutts lately. We think it’s some hatchery brats that made their way into the Flathead system the last few high water years but haven’t heard anything otherwise. I guess they still catch the same so we don’t mind them.
Blackfoot River Report: Dawn patrol on the upper has been good. Smallish hoppers and attractors have been working well. Get out early and keep cruising.
Bugs / Fly Patterns: terrestrials / Small Chubbies and willies, Fuzzie wuzzies, Hot leg hoppers, White Clouds, Pink Morrish Hoppers, Rainy’s ants, Hippie stompers, Franks, Rogue goldens, Smaller foam variations, Para haze, Turds, Halo Prince, Da Worm
Lower Clark Fork River Report: The weather is too hot to bake on the flat water right now. Early morning half day with some hoppers maybe.

Flathead River Report: Mixed reports the last couple days. Some great, some poopy. Definately getting tougher to get them to eat the foam stuff. Small cripples, ants, small hoppers, and rusty spinners will improve your odds. Droppers are also working well.

Swan River Report: A few bigger fish finally willing to eat the dry. Late night is best. Droppers help but reduce your ability to fish the dry. If you can get a couple good ones that’s a good day right now. September is around the corner…
