The Missouri River has been fishing FANTASTIC! The streamer bite has been fast all day with risers to target early in the afternoon. Tandem streamers with something bright/flashy and something black works great. Every rising fish we threw at would eat a 14 purple haze so why bother with 2 flies and little shit? I’m sure nymphing is productive too but why would you?  Only problem is that it is FRIGID out there right now. Freezing guides, cold hands, and a drippy nose will try and distract you as you pick the big one that is sipping among the group of risers. If you can deal, you will catch lots of fish. The Missouri is really the only good option with the current weather. The freestones might get good if we see some more nights above freezing and day time temps in the upper 40’s low 50’s. But really, from here on out the Mighty Mo will be the best option through the winter months. Check out the Headhunters report for a full detailed report of what is happening through the winter months. They are the best most user friendly shop on the Mo.
