In the coming weeks the aquatic insect activity will intensify and fish will start to focus a bit more on mayflies. Some of the risers you encounter won’t eat a pink Morrish hopper. You can keep cruising until you find a fish to eat your foam shit or switch bugs and geek out on the risers. Depending on the skill of the angler, the small fly game can be fun. Cripples, small terrestrails, and cdc patterns are good to have in the box for this endeavor. Glitter flying ants, P-tail cripples and marabou cripples, Moho hackle stackers, tilt wing duns, Film Critics, Harrop CDC patterns, and Quigly cripples are all good patterns.
