February evening risers near Cascade town.

The weather has been WAY too nice for February. Can’t really complain about nice weather but the thought of a smokey summer is always present when soaking up 60 degree sunshine in February. Luckily our higher elevations are hanging in there around average for most of the state so we’re looking good so far.

Fishing has been good just about everywhere. Not much in the way of dry fly fishing but streamers and nymphs will catch you some fish. If this weather continues we will likely see fish on the Bitterroot, Clark Fork, and Missouri start to look for Skwalas in the next few weeks. Hopefully we’ll get some more winter. Little winter stones and midges should start to show more regularly and hopefully provide us with some risers over the next few weeks before the BWO and Skwala fishing really kicks in.
