Just a quick update. The smoke cleared out today and the jet-stream is shifting and bringing in some wind a new weather. Cold temps and a couple days of rain in the forecast are just what we need. Snow in the high country is even predicted above 6000. Fingers crossed that it materializes. If so, it will likely clear the skies for the remainder of the season.

The fishing has been good this past week. Fall bugs are starting to trickle in. October caddis, hecuba drakes, and mohoganies are all starting to show. The fish are also spreading out of their summer water and falling into some new lanes in response to the fall bugs and cooler water temps. Leave that dry to hunt just a little longer in the tailout… With the cold weather in the forecast the mayflies and dry fly fishing are going to ramp up a few notches. You might want to throw the waders in the truck this week and don’t forget a hoody in the am.
