Flathead River Fly Fishing

A nice Flathead River cutbow.

The Flathead is starting to shine.  Afternoons are giving up some good dry fly fishing with a variety of patterns. Mornings are a bit sluggish on top but a small rubber legs, SJW, or prince variation dropper will pick up fish before they start looking up. Very few folks are pitching streamers. Try swinging some buggers and you’ll likely bump into a few nicer fish looking to bulk up for winter. The fall colors are starting to pop and the weather is perfect, it won’t be long til the snow starts flying…
