Rich Birdsell with a nice Flathead River Rainbow.

I recently had the opportunity to do a show with Trout TV, hosted by one of my first outfitters in Montana Rich Birdsell. I started my guide carrier in Whitefish in the late 90’s working for Rich so it was good to get out and reminisce about the old days. I think it had been 15 or so years since we last guided together. Good times… We’ll keep you posted as to when the show will air.

The fishing was great! Lots of typical Flathead fish eating nymphs and dry flies. There has been a good hatch of nemoura stones getting fish up in the afternoon and providing solid dry fly fishing for a couple hours.

Tons of these little stones coming off in the afternoon. They’re about a size 16/14. Photo Cred goes to Travis Bradford
