We’ve been having a really nice fall. The weather has been sunny and warm providing consistent afternoon dry fly fishing. Another dose of indian summer is headed are way. Afternoons have fish up on pseudocloeon mayflies and the october caddis is also getting attention. Tan and orange #12/10 foam fly variations have been working well along with traditional #8 Elk hare caddis, #12 orange stemis, and the Foam Run caddis. Tung rubber legs, perdigons mayflies, SJWs, and all the jiggy nymphs are good droppers to throw off the foam fly. A #18 rocky mtn mint, purple haze, harrop cripple, or doa cripple off the back of the caddis works for fish that are up on pseudos. This could be the last of the summer-like weather so get out and enjoy it.
