Bigfork, Kalispell, Whitefish MT Fishing Guides Report

It’s been a cold spring and it’s still snowing in the high country. As of today the Flathead watershed is up to 85% of normal snow-pack. A solid come-back from 60% a few weeks ago. The cold temps have the freestone rivers dropping and back in fish-able shape. You can pretty much go catch fish on any of the western freestone rivers. Blackfoot, Clark Fork, Thompson, and Flathead are all in good shape. It won’t last long with the warm weather and rain in the forecast but the next few days should be solid. Run-off looks to be almost over. The forecast graphs show another small bump in flows the next week or so but that could be the end of it. Should be a great June!

We’ve been doing trips on the Missouri, Flathead, and Clark Fork rivers as well as the local stillwaters for bass, pike, greyling, and cutties. Give us a call if you want to get out on the water. Salmon flies, green drakes, caddis, PMDs, all coming into play soon. Foam attractor variations(chubbies, water walkers, juicy stones etc), TB jig princes, TB turds, TB PTs soft hackles, SJWs, FM Tactical jigs, perdigons etc.
