The upper Swan is a mess right now. It’s still BIG and brown and there are a ton of trees and jams all over the place. The river is really pushy too. Some locals flipped a boat up there a couple days ago and had to have search and rescue come find them. Luckily for them local Swan fisherman Jim Abney was able to locate them before S&R got there. There are a bunch of tight squeezes and a few portages that are going to be tough to deal with as the river drops. It is definitely NOT amateur hour up there right now…….especially between Fatty and PP.
Although the river is still high there are some big fish eating. Big Stonefly nymphs, sjws, and big buggers are getting some nice fish. I had a couple first timers today and they both got one over 20″. Way to go Gals! Thanks a bunch for helping me with those boat drags too ladies.

What beauties you put up on your website today. And the fish weren’t bad either! Seriously, Jason, thanks so much for a bucket list day of fishing and floating on the Swan. We will always remember our day of adventure on the wild river with you. We will write something lovely on Trip Advisor too! Take good care.
