Here is a simple natural fiber tie that works great anywhere there is March browns. We have a lot of luck with drab natural bugs. With all the new synthetic materials on the market it’s easy to get caught up thinking your bug has to be flashy and complicated to catch fish. Not the case. Less is more….especially when it comes to mayfly patterns. Keep it simple, durable, and quick to tie.
This pattern works great in the spring on the Bitterroot and Clark Fork when the fish get tired of the foam skwala patterns. We like to fish it behind a skwala so you can see it. If you get a refusal on the foam skwala, put this over the fish and he’ll eat almost every time.
