March brown muncher

Run off season is about to be upon us freestoners. The Missouri will be the answer to our fishing needs for the next month-ish. We will likely get a few windows of fishing opportunity on the freestone rivers as they come in and out of shape over the next 6 weeks or so, but for the most part the Mighty Mo is the place to be.

The fishing on the Mo is pretty consistent after the river has stabilized from a recent rise in flows. BWOs and midges are out daily and are offering dry fly fishing opportunities when the weather plays out and the reach cast materializes. Rainbows will continue to come off the redds and improve the fishing as they spread back out and fall back into their feeding zones. Caddis are around the corner and will add to the dry fly fishing in the coming weeks. The flows are great right now at 7k.
