Andy likes hopper fishing on the Mo….so do his anglers.

We have had a couple cooler days and nights that have helped the afternoon fishing the last few days but it looks like we’ll see another dose of HOT weather this weak. As you can see from the above picture the hopper fishing has been worth the effort. Good reports from the Clark Fork yesterday too with plenty of good fish looking up for various hopper patterns. The afternoon fishing might start to get a bit sluggish with the heat this week so go early if you are heading down to the Clarkfork or Blackfoot.

The Flathead system is still running nice and cool providing great all day dry fly action right now. Small hoppers, ants, beetles/purple haze, small chubbies, hippie stompers, pink morrish,  fat franks, and  hot legs hoppers are all getting plenty of action.  Standard issue simulators, wullfs, trudes, elk hairs, and parachutes will all produce too if you don’t have any of the fancy new bugs with cool names in your box.
