From the looks of this snow/water map we could use a bit more snow to get us up to par. We are always getting the “when’s the best time to come fishing” question and this here map is a good indicator. But this is just one variable. Of course it’s a good start when we have average water in the hills but summer rains, air temps, angler ability, and fishing pressure can all play a role on any given day. We can have the best or worst fishing conditions just about any time of year. There’s really too many factors that come into play when trying to predict the outcome of your trip. And the best/worst conditions are not always a guarantee for that outcome. Best thing to do is pick a date and go fishing. Role with whatever hand you’re dealt and plan on having a good time…and you probably will.
