A solid brown on a skwala dry fly.
The western Montana fly fishing report is – freestone rivers are all blown. If we see some mid 50 day time highs and freezing nights the rivers will drop back enough to be fish-able. So off to the Missouri it is. We just got back and the fishing is good. Nymphing is excellent, streamer fishing is decent, and dry fly fishing is fair to poor. The water is still cold and a little high for the dry fly. If we can get the water temps a few degrees warmer without flows coming up the dry fly fishing should get better.
