Skwala eater.
Just had a few days on the Missouri. The wind blew like hell but the fishing was very good. Nymphing was stoopid and we managed some nice fish on skwala dries between the gail force blasts. Great to see some nice browns eating the big dry in thin water.
As predicted, the weekend warmth has our freestone rivers on a pretty steep rise. Not to worry, the weather is going to get cool for a few days and the rivers should drop back for another window of opportunity before the big push starts. There’s still March browns, skwalas, bwos, and grey drakes kicking around and Mothers day caddis are making their appearance as well. We should have some good dry fly fishing when things shape back up.
