The weather the last few days has been unbelievably nice….the fishing has been good too. Unfortunately that means the snow is melting and the freestones are all on the rise…just when things were really starting to pick up on the Clark Fork and Flathead. Pretty standard to see a couple pushes of water this time of year. Good fishing will return soon and the Missouri is fishing well in the meantime. Look for skwala, bwo, and march brown fishing to continue as the flows stabilize and begin to drop in the next few days.
The push of water and warmer temps should bring some fresh fish into the Bay. Our shop guy Brad has been down there catching some cutties on dry flies this week.
Here’s a couple NOAA prediction graphs to give you a guess at what to expect over the next week.
