The small streams in the region open up this Saturday 5/15. The flows are dropping pretty hard at the moment. If that continues for the next few days the opener should be a good one. There have been a few salmon flies spotted and march browns, mothers day caddis, and skwalas are still out too. It looks like the weather is approaching 70 for a couple days so it could turn flows back up and spoil the party. If not, we should have great conditions. The Flathead River has also been dropping like a rock for several days so there will be a small window of opportunity to get out and float the river the next few days before it comes up again. The small lake fishing continues to provide consistent and pretty easy fishing. Chironimids, callibaetis nymphs(p-tail variations), & balanced leaches have been working well.
