Summer has arrived….finally. The rivers have been dropping and coming into shape very quickly. The Blackfoot is fishing great! The Flathead and Clark Fork are really close and should be fishing well any day now. Salmon flies are out on the Blackfoot and the big fish are looking. They’ll get wise quick so have your golden stones and green drakes on deck. Golden stones, sallies, caddis, pmds, and green drakes are also coming off in good numbers. It’s a great time of year to watch the bugs pour off in the afternoon. As the lower Clark Fork and Flathead come into shape look for all the same bugs with the exception of salmon flies. We have lots of water this year so our aquatic insects should stick around for a while. Get out your foamies, big bug season is hear. It’s gonna be a great summer!
