Flathead River Fly Fishing 1

Solid Flathead River fly fishing right now. Lots of fish eating nymphs under an indicator and there was about a 3 hour window of good dry fly fishing this afternoon. Lots of little(#16) stones popping off in the afternoon providing good site fishing to risers. The river is high but has great visibility. Finding the right water is still the key to success. Side channels, soft seams, slow diamond chop drop offs, eddies, and slow inside bends were the best. The turd and the worm were a little off today but mid sized tungsten epoxy back stones and beadhead attractors were working well. A small royal stimi worked for the little stones.

It felt really warm today but hopefully she’ll hold. If so, the fishing is going to be good for a while…
